Jake Paul is one of the most polarizing characters on the planet, let alone boxing, and he has certainly ruffled more than a few feathers since he began his journey in professional boxing back in 2020.

Gervonta Davis, who is no stranger to a bit of controversy, has revealed that he has changed his mind about ‘The Problem Child’ and his boxing credentials.

Davis explained that, like most professionals, he was initially not a fan of Paul’s entrance onto the scene, calling him a “clown” who couldn’t fight; However, he has since come to respect him and believes that he is “decent”.

“At first I didn’t like how Jake Paul came in because of how he made him look. Although I still think that he is a clown because that is his personality, I respect him because he does not do it for exaggeration, he is actually trying to be a boxer.”

“I think it’s decent. It’s not good, but she’s going that way. You have to be mentally strong to box, that’s why I don’t take anything away from people who have taken up the sport.”

Paul was last in the ring in August, bouncing back from a loss to Tommy Fury earlier this year to outpoint former UFC veteran Nate Diaz at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.

There have been no concrete reports on who the former Disney star will face next, although he will almost certainly be keeping an eye on next month’s fight between Fury and Paul’s long-time foe KSI, who will face off at the Manchester Arena on October 14.
