The days of the MLB season are dwindling, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty of value on the board. Let’s dive into the top three MLB players for this Saturday’s roster.

While he’s certainly been fortunate to be able to avoid some heavy contact, JP France has been a critical part of the Astros’ run in the second half.
He has provided great stability in the back of the rotation and will get a chance to shine against the Royals tonight. Kansas City’s lineup is very green at this point in the season, which means there are quite a few changes in this group.
France is far from the prototypical strikeout artist, but the Royals are a team that can make him look like one. They have seven hitters on their roster with an above-average strikeout rate.
In addition to the matchup, our Action Labs projections love this play. In fact, it’s one of the best plays on the board, as they have France projected for 5.9 strikeouts in this matchup.
Pick: Over 4.5 strikeouts (+110)

Unlike our guy above, Tyler Anderson hasn’t fared well in Los Angeles this season. He has a 5.36 ERA in 24 starts and tonight he will face a much better Tigers lineup.
While the young Tigers lineup has started to show flashes, they are still very strikeout prone. Detroit has the eighth-highest team strikeout rate in the majors, but even in a positive matchup like this, it’s still wise to rule out Anderson.
Anderson has long proven that eclipsing this total is a challenge for him. In his last 57 starts, Anderson has been below this total in 68.4% of them.
That strike rate gives us implied odds of -216 that it will sink again tonight.
Clayton Kershaw’s ERA may still be excellent at 2.61, but it’s clear he has yet to regain his form since returning from injury in August. He hasn’t gone more than five innings in any of the six starts he’s made since his return, and his strikeout numbers have also gone down in that stretch.
However, the future Hall of Famer has a tremendous matchup ahead of him tonight, and this is a great place to buy the fall. Kershaw will face the Seattle Mariners, who come in with the second-highest strikeout rate in the majors.
On top of that, Kershaw’s track record says he’s sure to bounce back in the strikeout column. Kershaw has exceeded this total in 56.8 percent of his last 44 starts.
That gives us implied odds of -131 for a breakout tonight and presents huge line value at the current price.
Pick: Over 5.5 strikeouts (+126)
