NASCAR Odds for Bristol: Picks and Predictions for Saturday Night

The Bristol Night Race has always been one of my favorite NASCAR races of the year, but it’s also tough to bet on, especially now.

For starters, the Next Gen car hasn’t performed very well on short tracks, making it difficult for drivers, even the fastest ones, to overtake.

Add in a new right-side tire and there’s even more uncertainty for tonight’s race at Bristol (6:30 p.m. ET, USA).

Overall, I’m heading into Saturday night’s race with a light betting card.

However, based on the latest NASCAR odds for Bristol, there’s one I’m feeling down about right now.

He’ll certainly need some help, but this driver has the history and speed to pull it off tonight at Bristol.

For those who know me, it makes sense that I’m the last one to boot, right?

At least in this case, it is world driver Kyle Larson.

In fact, Bristol is one of Larson’s best tracks, including a win in this race just two years ago and a fifth-place finish last season, his first at this circuit with the aforementioned Next Gen car.

Additionally, the No. 5 Hendrick Chevrolet was fast in practice yesterday.

It doesn’t show it on the practice charts, but Larson’s 10-lap and longer averages were done on older tires, so it’s not all that surprising to see him lower on the dashboard than we expected.

So if he was so fast, why did he start last?

Well, Larson became extremely relaxed in qualifying, so relaxed that his only option was to stop accelerating to save the car, completely killing his lap.

I’m okay with anyone passing on Larson based on his starting position, pit spot, or if you want to wait to see how the live betting plays out during the race to track his progress, lap times, and potentially get an even better price .

But since tonight’s race starts right in the middle of dinner, bedtime, and other #DadLife tasks, I’m going to go ahead and lock Larson in now with NASCAR odds of +650 in the likely event he’s out near a television or computer if the opportunity presents itself live.
