Natasha Cloud and Aaliyah Boston among top picks (September 8)

The race continues! As a result of Courtney Vandersloot and NaLyssa Smith kindly getting their overs on Tuesday, we have made 16 of our last 21 props, ladies and gents. And today is the last time I do this until the playoffs, so you know what the goal is: finish on a high note.

Natasha Cloud Over 5.5 assists (-125)

Natasha Cloud, one of my favorite players in the league, destroyed the Phoenix Mercury for 20 points and 10 assists on Tuesday night. For tonight, I’ll just focus on those assists.

He’s topped 5.5 dimes in three of his last five games, and the only two misses were five apiece. He’s been living near this prop for several games and, actually, for much of the season.

The Mystics have been up and down, and every time they feel like they are about to win a streak of games, they lose one or two, but they will play to finish the season on a high to get into the playoffs with momentum and improve their positioning.

Aaliyah Boston Over 8.5 rebounds (-106)

It’s “catch or trend” time, y’all.

It’s true that the matchup against the Connecticut Sun’s frontcourt is difficult, but Aaliyah Boston has been in great rhythm.
Boston pulled down at least nine boards, except twice, in its last 11 games. The Sun can’t go up or down in the standings, so we’ll see how long they’ll leave their A team out there. Hopefully not too much, for the sake of this bet.

But Boston has been tackling well enough to bet this anyway.

Ezi Magbegor More than 7.5 rebounds (-115)

Ezi Magbegor has great rebounding pace and has generally been effective this season, which is about to end before the postseason. Magbegor will face the Dallas Wings tonight and has 7.5 boards.

Let’s review tonight: He’s hit eight or more in four of five games, hitting nine and 12 against the Wings this season. This isn’t a giveaway, but it’s a good value at -115, considering the career he’s had.
