According to Sydney, her initial conversations with Togethxr centered around a podcast rather than a TV show.

“Initially it was going to be a podcast series about my life in the WNBA,” Sydney said. “Like my career, staying in the league, the time I have not really been a high-minute player, talking about my passion for comedy and wanting to act after basketball, like a lot of things, family, things like that. And so it was going to be like an inside look at my life for listeners who didn’t like to know my story.”

Eventually, he began discussing opportunities with Theresa that would allow them to showcase their unique sense of humor to an audience outside of the locker room.

“A little more time went by and I kept saying, ‘TP, girl, you’re so funny. “We have to do something together” and she said, “Yeah, okay,” Sydney said. “We’re funny, like just talking about the way we would respond to each other and annoy our teammates in Las Vegas. But I think it is necessary to see us in action for it to be fully received. And so they followed him. And you know, that’s what you’ll end up seeing.”

Theresa admitted that she had never considered acting before, but the experience changed her mind.

“Filming the show was one of the best times of my life, we had a great time,” Theresa said. “Everyone on set was really amazing. And you know, television could be in my future. I really do not know. I told Syd the other day that I don’t know what real television is like, because we had our own television show and everything happened the way we wanted. I don’t know, if we had to follow someone else’s script, what it would be like because everything was tailored to us, which we would do naturally. And it was really fun to be ourselves in this.”
