Baseball fans should be prepared to be surprised tomorrow (9/19). A very special man will throw the ceremonial pitch at the Yankees and Blue Jays game… using only his feet. Tom Willis, 64, of Washington, DC, was born without arms or hands. He will surprisingly be involved in his 29th pitch in an MLB game.
Learning to use his lower limbs to compensate for his missing upper limbs, Willis says he began playing baseball with his feet and uses the same method to cook, write and even drive a car. Willis, whose motto is “No hands, no arms, no problem,” is just one step away from fulfilling his dream of throwing pitches in all 30 ballparks.
