Warzone 2023 World Series winner Shifty has hinted at his interest in switching to play in the Call of Duty League, just hours after he and teammates Sage and Biffle pocketed $100,000 with a dominant performance in a threesome in London.
After six maps, Shifty and his trio finished with a massive 75-point lead over second place, ending the tournament with a huge victory in Game 6, with 24 kills, extending their lead further than anyone could have anticipated. .
Shifty made a name for himself back in the Caldera days, as his incredible online performances saw him face a litany of hacking accusations, including flying into a facility to attempt to prove his innocence in a LAN environment in a neutral setting.

On September 16, however, he proved the skeptics and accusers wrong when he earned 44 kills across six maps, the most in the entire tournament, surpassing his teammate Biffle, who had 43.
However, he may not be done proving people wrong.
Shifty looking towards the CDL switch?
Shifty, Biffle and Sage have become a very dominant Warzone trio.
Following the day’s events, Shifty spoke with GGRecon about his potential aspirations to move beyond Warzone and find success elsewhere.
“Warzone is a challenge and I like that, but there is something about the CDL that attracts me,” he explained. “I like hard work. By being able to start from the bottom again and then work my way up, and especially LANs, I feed off this energy. I think everyone saw this. I was pumped all day, and when you hear the crowd cheering and you can feel the ground rumbling, that’s what moves me, it’s a different feeling that you can’t get from home.

“So if it’s right, if the paper says something that makes my eyes open, then maybe.”
This certainly caused a stir on social media, as many questioned his motives for wanting to enter the league, including Boston Breach star Ben ‘Beans’ McMellon.
Beans said: “Wrong reasons: if you want to be the best in the world, you have to love it for real, not for money.”

Others suggested he would need to get past the Challengers to have any chance of entering the CDL. Meanwhile, three-time world champion James’ Clayster Eubanks suggested that it is not out of the question for him to compete.

“Talent would translate like it translates for many CDL pros in Warzone,” he said in response to Shifty himself. “I’d have to learn the ins and outs of respawning and it would be a piece of cake.”
Yeah, I can’t remember what the wz player ranking was last year, but I mean, the game is pretty much the same. Talent would translate like it does for many cdl pros in Warzone. He would simply have to learn the ins and outs of respawning and it would be a piece of cake.

It remains to be seen if Shifty actually decides to pursue the dream of becoming a professional Call of Duty player in the CDL, but he clearly has the talent to be one of the top FPS stars, as Clayster said, if he learns the fundamentals and intricacies of COD comeback, no one knows what could happen.
